Who We Are

The Wanda Foundation: Breaking barriers. Empowering communities

The Wanda Foundation is a U.S.-based nonprofit with an in‑office presence in Cameroon, where we are legally registered as The Wanda Association. We work across Sub‑Saharan Africa to expand access to quality healthcare, education, and equal opportunities.

We champion community‑led solutions, partnering with local leaders and grassroots groups to break down systemic barriers and advance justice, dignity, and inclusion. Together, we help build thriving communities shaped by the people they serve.

What We Do

Unlocking Potential, Igniting Community-Driven Change.

Across Sub‑Saharan Africa, crises, poverty, and systemic exclusion continue to deny millions—especially women, girls, and vulnerable groups—their right to safety, education, and quality health care. The Wanda Foundation focuses here because this region carries some of the world’s highest burdens of preventable illness, gender‑based violence, and disrupted schooling, yet holds extraordinary potential for community‑driven change.

Education

Conflict, poverty, and displacement push children—especially girls—out of school and into cycles of vulnerability. We restore access to learning through scholarships, mentorship, and safe spaces that help young people reclaim their futures.

Gender Equity

Violence, harmful norms, and systemic exclusion continue to silence women, girls, and key populations. We strengthen protection systems, expand rights, and amplify voices so every person can live with dignity and agency.

Health

In underserved and crisis‑affected areas, quality health care remains out of reach. Women, adolescents, and marginalized groups face the highest barriers. We expand access to sexual and reproductive health, adolescent wellbeing, and community‑rooted care.
